答案The Biggest Disadvantage of Microblog Microblog is gaining widespread popularity in China in the past few years. While being praised by many, microblog have its own downside. As far as I am concerned, the biggest disadvantage of Microblog lies in the destabilizing factors it brings about for netizens and the society. This point will be justified in three aspects. First of all, the Microblog is likely to be the source of rumors. Inappropriately tackled, these rumors might mislead netizens and spread panic among whole society. An research which was conducted by Shanghai Jiaotong University displays that microblog has become the main source of mass media that produce groundless allegations in 2010. As is widely known, the news that Jingyong, a famous martial arts writer, have passed away washed in a foaming way into the Chinese people’s scope and raised great grief among netizens. As with Jingyongs issue, there are large amounts of rumors such as the earthquake in Shanxi province that caused great shock and tension. Secondly, microblog is being capitalized as a form of venting anger by radicals which is closely connected to irrational outburst, even personal attack. For instance, the girl Guo Meimei closely related to Red Cross was said to have received many blackmailing letters and suffered from verbal attack in public places. Likewise, those who participated in the hot matchmaking show If you are the one in Jiangsu was reported to be verbal hurt by some radical netizens through weibo. The girl Zhangminy’s life was totally disordered by some netizens merely because she explained on a variety show that she was keen on Japanese culture, which, generally speaking, was just a personal issue. It goes without saying that unproper utilization of Microblog highlights its downside. Another point in case is that microblog is vulnerable to be used by people bearing illegal purposes which result in the disorder of Internet environment as well as netizens’ interests. It is often the case that many netizens encountered personal information piracy and suffered great loss or received many nuisance calls everyday. Furthermore, the real name registration system are worsening the Internet environment in terms of the information leakage. To draw the above-mentioned into a conclusion, the biggest disadvantage of microblog are the unrest factors it may cause for both netizens and the society in terms of microblog-generated rumors, unreasonable outburst of anger and resentments and also the illegal behaviors such as disclosure of personal information. However, we still can’t stop eating because we’ve got chucked. What we really need is a feasible and comprehensive system of Internet management. With regard netizens ourselves, what really counts is trying to use microblog more rational and also learn to maintain our legal rights.
