答案 Advertising and Our Lives Now people have come to realize that advertisements have become a part of our life. Advertisements can be seen nearly anytime and anywhere. When you are sleeping in the early morning, the ad songs from outside will awaken you. When you read a newspaper, different ads, from clothes and cosmetics to Coca Cola, or virtually anything that can be purchased, occupy large space of the newspaper. When you are enjoying a film shown on TV in the evening, commercials often interrupt it. Advertisements influence us by all kinds of means, such as signalling to us from road- side billboards all day and flashing messages to us in colored lights all night, smiling to us from the television screen, or shouting to us from the radio loudspeakers. They are imposed on you whether you like them or not. It is hardly possible for a person to avoid being influenced by ads. Is it possible for one to sit indifferent to a certain hot and delicious food shown on TV? Is it possible for one not to be attracted to a certain fashionable, beautiful and safe sedan? It is more difficult for young people like us to resist the temptation of ads because we always want to catch up with the fashion. In order to acquaint ourselves with what is new and popular in the world at present, it is a good way to follow advertisements of various kinds. As a result, our lives have been dominated by advertisements which have become one of the most authoritative voices to us today.
