答案 In the picture, a son is presenting a parents’ meeting notice to his father. In the meantime, he is asking his father to "polish shoes, use mousse, and best of all, drive a car to school". His father is astounded by the succession of requests. The picture offers us a lesson about the shocking vanity of some children at such a tender age, and peer pressure and social phenomenon like comparing may account for the vanity. As far as I am concerned, teachers and parents need to work together to prevent children from being affected by materialism. First, teachers should guide stu dents not to compare with each other about their family status and wealth. Let students bear in mind that their business is to learn, regardless of their backgrounds. Second, parents are advised not to keep up with the Joneses, showing off their wealth or superiority over oth ers. Instead, they must teach their kids the importance of sharing things and offering assistance to each other. In short, children are the mirror of parents and teachers.
