The Robots Are Coming
Robots are becoming a big part of our lives. There may be half a million robots in the U.S. 20 years from now.
These machines are changing the way work is being done. Thousands of robots are used in factories. These robots are not like the robots in movies. They don’t walk or talk. Instead, a robot may be just a metal arm. The robot arm can do a certain job in a factory over and over again. It can do jobs that people may not want to do. A robot never gets tired of doing the same thing.
Sometimes a robot gets to do more exciting work. In Canada, police are using a robot on wheels. This robot’s job is to take apart bombs that may go off.
Of course, there are also questionable robots out there, too, like Ron Arkin’s bots at Georgia Tech which have been programmed to be deceptive, and robots are filmed to control our human in the future and may even take our place to dominate the world.

答案
Are robots always good to us? Robots will definitely be an important part in human life in the future. While some people believe that they bring more benefits, others argue that there may be some dangerous effects on us. In my opinion, as long as robots are used properly, the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. The major benefit of robots is that they can do manual jobs quickly. In factories, for example, many jobs such as packing, sealing or assembling of car parts are done by robots. Also, the work done by robots is generally much cheaper and they tend to be more productive than human beings. This means that we have extra time to do the things we like instead of doing tedious jobs that could be done by robots. In this way, we can make our life much easier and our quality of life could be improved. On the other hand, there could be some negative effects of robots. We may become dependent on them. Since robots can do almost everything for us, we could become lazier and many people may incur health problems. In addition, some traditional skills such as cooking could be lost if most people rely on robots to cook for them. Another problem is that people may be replaced by machines. As robots take on more tasks, factories will employ fewer workers, leading to a likely rise in the unemployment rate. This may even lead to more serious problems such as crime or poverty. In my opinion, although there are some disadvantages to using robots, they could be controlled if we use them cautiously. We should appreciate the time-and-energy-saving advantages of robots but not neglect the need to preserve traditional skills.
