答案 A Dangerous Concept For a long time, there has been a growing zest for thinness. The woman in the picture wants to become thinner. No wonder nowadays people, especially young girls, are longing to become slim. However, this pursuit of thinness may be quite dangerous. Usually, people try to get slim in the following ways: exercising, dieting and taking medication. It is true that proper exercises are good to build up the body and therefore good for the health. Yet in the strong desire to become thin in as short a time as possible, some people exercise excessively, which could do a lot of harm to their health. Many people have the wrong impression that dieting is the most effective way to lose weight. They skip breakfast and cut down heavily on lunch and supper. Some people can live only on juice and fruits. As a result, they don’ t get adequate nutrition and illnesses may follow. The most serious one could be a disease that causes the patient to throw up whatever is eaten. Medication may seem to be a good option. However, it would always have side effects. As a matter of fact, they make people lose their appetite or cause digestive problems. Thus, none of the methods mentioned above is good for the health. While the loss of some weight may be good for your appearance, don’ t lose it all at once, and don’ t rely on dieting or medicine alone. Try a balanced diet, take adequate exercises, and most of all, don’t follow fashion trend blindly.
