答案 Noise Noise is becoming more and more dangerous. And all over the world the situation is getting worse all the time since noise increases with the population and the development of machines. The noises can be very harmful. We know that sounds of an ordinary city are loud enough to cause serious harm to the people’s hearing. But it is not only our hearing that is harmed. It has been known that loud noises, over a period of time, cause loss of sleep, anger, and many other problems. Such problems have been found among factory workers, prisoners in large prisons, and people who drive heavy trucks, operate loud machines, or often go to pop music concerts. And noise has increased greatly in the 20th century with the development of machines. We live surrounded by loud plants, trucks, buses, radios, machines—that make such loud noises day and night up to an un bearable degree. Drastic action must be taken if we are to reduce noise. Some countries are trying to make laws, others are urging manufacturers to make laws, others are urging manufacturers to build quieter machines. In order to make our world quieter, every government must make its own effort.
