答案 Growth Rates in Service Mileage This graph provides the comparison of the growth rates in service mileage among Railway, Road and Civil Aviation. In 1978, Road led the other two in service mileage by absolute superiority; however, the interval of a decade ( 1978～1997 ) didn’t witness much change in its growth (the growth mart gin was 30% ). In contrast to road transport, nonstop and sharp advance in Civil Aviation can be seen from the graph. In 1978, Civil Aviation was only a dwarf against Road; by the end of 1997, however, it had beaten its rival (the growth rate should be 120% ). Another transport means needs our attention, too—it is Railway. Unfortunately, the growth rate in its service mileage almost remained unchanged during the decade.
