Now it has emerged as a model with Chinese characteristics. The policy of China’s aiding other developing countries is characterized with the features of the times, which is in agreement with the current situations of the states and satisfies the needs of the aided countries. China is still the largest developing country around the world, with a large population, a poor foundation and uneven economic development. China still faces a daunting task to develop itself, which determines that China’s aid goes within South -South cooperation, mutual aid among developing countries. China adheres to the principles of equality, mutual benefit, common development and keeping abreast with the times in/with regard to provision of foreign aid. The climate for gloabal development is still not favorable. Global concerns bring new challenges to developing countries, such as the lingering repercussions brought by the international financial crisis, climate change, food crisis, energy security and epidemic diseases. Under these circumstances, China still has a long way to go to further the foreign aid cause. Chinese government will make efforts to optimize the aid structure, improve the quality of foreign aid, instensify the capacity of aided countries for independent development and increase the pertinence and effectiveness of the aid. China, an important member of the international community, will continue to make its relentless efforts to step up South-South cooperation. Regarding this, China will increase foreign aid input step by step along with the continual economic development and help achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals with other countries so as to help build a prosperous and harmonious world with lasting peace.
