Which is Better for Graduates — to Start Their Own Business or Get Employed? [1] As is shown in the picture, to [2] get a job from a company is no longer the only way for graduates to take, since the possibility of [3] starting their own businesses provides a wider range of choice. [4] Accordingly, whether it is good for students to begin an undertaking immediately after leaving school has caused enormous discussions. [5] Some hold that it would be better for students to work for others after they graduate, [5] while others think that establishing business of their own would benefit the graduates more. Those who maintain the former standpoint may argue that [2] getting employed has less risk, and thus creats a more stable environment for the graduates to develop. What’s more, they insist that students who have just left school are [6] so idealized and inexperienced [6] that if they [3] set up their own business they would probably gain nothing but failure. Those who hold the latter viewpoint base their theory primarily on the fact [7] that [3] running a business of one’s own provides more opportunities although it is more challenging. They argue resolutely that [3] working for oneself has more freedom, which allows people to [8] tap their potential to the full. [9] Weighing up the matter in my mind, I think graduates should work in a company for some time to gain experience before starting up their own business. [10] After all, running a business is not an easy task and blindly following one’s dream is not a wise practice.
