答案 One early morning, John was walking outside when he caught sight of heavy smoke coming up from his neighbour’s house. There must be a fire! He immediately went to dial 119. The fire-engine soon came and the firemen started to put the fire out. Suddenly, they heard someone crying for help. A boy and a girl could be seen trapped in the burning house. Their life was in danger. The next moment, one of the firemen started to climb onto the roof, using a long ladder, and managed to carry the boy and the girl down. Thanks to John and the firemen, the fire was soon put out and nobody was seriously hurt.
