It seems that our lives are revolving around smartphones as we use them to watch the latest news, play games, listen to music, do online shopping and follow navigational instructions of online maps. But is this smartphone addiction really beneficial? Smartphone addiction tends to bring out various worrisome problems. First, overuse of smartphones can result in a number of different physical problems, such as digital eye strain, neck problems and back pain. Second, constant focus on smartphones during social situations may be harmful to relationships. It is not uncommon to see that family members are so immersed in their digital devices that they barely talk to each other at home gatherings. Third, overuse of mobile phones may alienate you from the real world. Addiction to various smartphone apps can cause you to neglect other aspects of your life, from real-world relationships to hobbies and social pursuits. As we can see from the analysis above, smartphone addiction can be detrimental to us in a variety of ways. We need to take measures to get our use of smartphone under control, like setting a time limit for phone use, looking for outside support, or focusing on real life problems.
