What is the main purpose of the talk?

Good morning, everyone. The reason I called this meeting today is to congratulate all of you on your hard work over the past twelve months. You, our sales team, have performed especially well this year, and I’d like to let you know that your contributions are very much appreciated. We thought that the disruption caused by moving our head office in July may have led to a drop in sales, but that hasn’t been the case. Now, as you know, we plan to promote one exceptional salesperson to a managerial role. The person we have chosen managed to make over 200 sales and received fewer than 50 complaints. Let’s take a look at the figures for our top four salespeople and see who won the promotion.
