Most people are convinced that the creative person is someone who is gifted with a certain quality that the rest of us do not possess. This conception is almost entirely rejected by psychologists. The majority of psychologists have found that to some extent each individual possesses all abilities humans are supposed to have, except for the time when he is very sick. Creative acts can therefore be expected of all individuals, however feeble or however infrequent those acts may be. Whatever the nature of creative talent, those persons who are described as creative merely have more of what all of us have to some degree. Creativity sounds like something only a few people seem to have, but on closer investigation it is somewhat certain that what most people call "inspiration" is the realization of what psychologists believe is available to all. Except for rare cases, every person with some degree of intelligence will benefit from a good education and a stimulating environment. The role the family plays in the shaping of personality, sensitivity and adventurousness which are encouraged by parents and teachers will all influence the nature of intelligence and creativity.
