In recent years, traditional printed newspapers have been facing serious challenges. The Christian Science Monitor became the first national newspaper to shut down its print edition, and recently, the world famous magazine Newsweek announced that it would soon cease publishing on paper and shift to an online-only format. Will printed newspapers one day be replaced by online newspapers? Some believe so while many still hold an optimistic view on the future of traditional newspapers. Read carefully the opinions from both sides and write your response in about 200 words, in which you should first summarize briefly the opinions from both sides and then give your view on the issue.
Marks will be awarded for content relevance, content sufficiency, organization and language quality. Failure to follow the above instructions may result in a loss of marks.
Yes:
New forms of media, such as the Internet and mobile phone applications, have exerted a great influence on people’s life. Online newspapers are fast, instant, and convenient, while printed newspapers often respond slowly to the latest news. People are now used to reading online newspapers on smartphones, and few people have the patience to wait for printed newspapers.
Online newspapers are also environment-friendly, which are in accord with the trend of saving energy in today’s world. Printed newspapers consume a large quantity of natural resources, and will, in the long term, be gradually replaced.
Multiple services, such as posting comments and finding related news through the links provided by online newspapers, have greatly enriched people’s reading experience and knowledge. Traditional newspapers can hardly compete in this sense.
No:
There are still a large number of people in the world who have no access to the Internet. For these people, reading printed newspapers is an important way to know about the latest events at home and abroad.
Although printed newspapers can’t be as fast-responding as online newspapers, they still can provide many in-depth reports and analytical articles for readers. Many column writers are invited to write special feature reports for printed newspapers. Online newspapers, on the other hand, are only suitable for fast reading.
Many readers prefer to read printed newspapers because they do not like staring at the computer or cell phone screens. Printed newspapers are also preferred by elderly people.

答案
The Irresistible Trend of Online Newspapers With the advent of information technology, the traditional media are pushed to the corner and are struggling to survive. Surprisingly, not all people are hailing the birth of online news. Some people believe that traditional printed newspapers are irreplaceable since a large number of people still have no access to the Internet. However, others believe that the demise of the printed version is at hand. Being faster and more convenient, cell phones and personal computers are leading us to a paperless lifestyle. As far as I am concerned, it is irresistible that printed newspapers will demise while online newspapers will prosper. As modern life changes quickly, news is reported at every turn. So news is no longer new when printed on paper. The printing process of traditional newspapers takes hours, and their distribution may take even longer time, but the spread of news on the Internet may only take a couple of seconds. Besides, young people, the largest group of consumers, prefer to read news via cell phones or laptops. With these devices, users can share and comment on the news, which enables them to enrich their experience and knowledge in a short time. In conclusion, I firmly hold the idea that online newspapers will dominate the market in the future while printed newspapers will be displayed in the museum representing a period of history.
随后用“However…”引出正方观点,表明网络报纸的优势颇多,比如方便快捷。
中间部分第二段阐述自己的观点,并用“it is irresistible that…”
