答案 Traffic Accidents in China Traffic accidents are becoming such a serious problem in China that more and more people involved in are injured or killed. As is shown in the above chart, from January to June in 1985, a total of 94,669 people were injured and 2,621 people were killed. Taking a closer look at the figures, we will find that the traffic accidents have been increasing all the time. In January, there are only 13,905 people injured, while in June the number went up to 17,151. As for those killed, there are only 230 in January, but in June there were 700. The rise in traffic accidents shows that they have already become a threat to people’s lives. It is urgent for the authorities to take effective measures and bring the traffic problem under control.
