答案 The Prospect of Electronic Books Many people believe that with the development of computer technology, electronic books will replace books in their present form to become the chief mode of reading. Even now, we are having mini- electronic dictionaries and CDs which hold dozens of classical works. The day won’t be far-off when we can have a notebook-sized LCD screen, which presents any page we want to read in a long book list. Just imagine -- everything you want to read to on earth is in a few "notebooks"! People will no longer have to make room for heavy books or carry them around. However, convenience is not the only thing. Although electronic books will be easy to carry and store, they won’t provide the old pleasure of fingering through a favorite paper book. To many people, after all, electronic things are more "inhuman" and more unreal. Besides, with copyright in view, an electronic book containing hundreds of hooks can be too expensive for most people to afford, which might hinder its production. In my opinion, electronic books will become popular in the future for their compactness and convenience, but it can not entirely replace paper books, just as the existence of mini electronic dictionaries today does not mean the end of quality paper dictionaries.
