A Swede joined Napoleon’s Army because he admired the great general so much that he wanted to fight for him. He knew no French but this didn’t prevent him from fighting hard. His new friends smoothed away the difficulties. He fought bravely and gained their respect.
   Several years later, word came that Napoleon himself was coming to inspect them and would ask them three questions. There was a difficulty in explaining this to the Swede.
   It was well known that Napoleon always asked the same three questions and usually in the same order. The friends taught the Swede the answers and gave him a lot of practice.
   Napoleon arrived. Standing in front of the straight lines of soldiers, he looked at them with satisfaction. Suddenly he caught sight of the tall Swede, and stopped in front of him. For some reason, the great man began with the second question. Just because of that, everything went wrong.
