The picture shows that the tumbler can never make a step further, always standing where it stands, though it will never fall. Here, falls are metaphorically used to represent the setbacks in our life. If one is afraid of falls and setbacks, he or she will be a coward, who is seemingly safe but can achieve nothing. Life is not always full of smiles and flowers. Every person will meet with setbacks. Some people feel so dejected about the setbacks that they fall into pessimism; others resort to putting the blame on others— the society or the circumstances; still others are frightened by setbacks and give up halfway. All these people, instead of sparing no efforts to overcome difficulties, make themselves losers of life. How can we face up to setbacks and become winners of life? The answer is to have a positive attitude, which allows you to utilize your ability to clear away all the obstacles that appear in your way rather than run away from them. Confront setbacks with joyful energy and enthusiasm, and you will find the setbacks are not really as hard as they appear. So it is of vital importance to have a correct attitude to face setbacks.
