答案 As is shown in the chart, e-reading has seen a dramatic increase within the past four years while the reading of printed contents has barely risen. In 2010, people on average read 2.3 e-books. Three years later in 2013, however, that number has jumped to 9.53, which is more than four times of the former. I think there are three reasons which can account for e-reading’s leap. Firstly, with the popularity of various smart phones and dedicated e-reading devices such as Kindle, people can have much easier access to different electronic reading materials, which is bound to help to increase e-book readership. Secondly, people can read numerous electronic books with no obvious added or measurable mass. Thirdly, many book retailers and third-party developers allow free reading of e-books and other documents or just charge a little sum of money. As far as I am concerned, it is good to see the rapid increase in e-book readership and I hope that this trend will continue in the future.
