W: How did you find out about it?

W: Well, you’re welcome to come in and see it.

W: Are you students?
M: Yes, I’m at the University of Chicago.
W: Sounds great. So, do you want to share with any roommates or live alone?
M: I prefer to live alone. I need my peace and quiet.

W: OK, now I’ll show you the apartment. (9) This is the balcony, and that is the kitchen. The bedroom is over there.
M: This place is perfect! It’s so quiet! But, (9) the kitchen is kind of small.
W: You won’t need much space if you’re cooking for one.
M: Well, I guess that’s true. So how much do you charge for it?
W: (10) The rent’s $200 per month. That includes electricity, but no gas. (10) And you need to pay 3 months’ rent each time, and for the first time. I will need another month’s rent as deposit in case something happens. Is that OK with you?
M: Great! It’s OK with me. I think I’ll take the apartment.
