答案 This cartoon presents in front of its audience a vivid scene of a door-to-door promotion tour. In the thought-provoking picture, a fat salesman has knocked upon the door of an apartment, and he is trying to sell slimming tea to a very thin lady, exaggerating that his tea "does work wonders." Having noticed that this salesman is overweight, the lady begins to doubt the truth of his words. So she replies, "Will it make me fat?" Sure enough, this lady shows no intention of buying his tea probably due to her unpleasant experience of buying fake products in the past. Fake products are creeping rampantly into markets today for the following reasons. To profiteer enormously, quite a few firms produce lots of shoddy goods. Such fake forgers seldom take into account the quality of their products, but exaggerate their functions or effects. To make easy money, some stores even knowingly sell counterfeit items. What those sellers are most concerned about is how much money they can get from their customers, ignoring the fact that the fake may cause damage to property and injury or even death to individuals. To eliminate fake products from the marketplace, our government, the authorities concerned and consumers must participate in an anti counterfeit campaign. For example, stiff new fines should be officially imposed so that those who continue to manufacture or sell shoddy goods may risk going bankrupt. Since frequent infringement of consumer’s legal rights remains a problem, China’s Consumers Association should also make it possible for consumers to know what compensation is available to them. As a result, victims can resort to the law to get justice. Although the drive to protect consumers’ interests and rights is no easy job, our joint efforts will ultimately pay off.
