Besides, they think that some students are too young to make fair judgements on their teachers. As for me, I am not willing to deny the demerits brought about by students’ remarks on teachers’ performance, but I still support those who say "yes". In the first place, asking students to evaluate their teachers’ performance can stimulate teachers to optimize their teaching methods. Praise and criticism from students are both timely feedback on teachers’ work, which will prompt teachers to make active adjustments for their teaching. In the second place, allowing students to assess teachers’ performance can not only cultivate their critical thinking but also improve their communication skills. Last but not least, students’ evaluation of teachers’ work can promote mutual understanding between teachers and students, which is conducive to establishing a harmonious teacher-student relationship. In conclusion, students should be allowed to evaluate their teachers’ performance on the condition that they can give helpful suggestions without showing disrespect for their teachers or breaking classroom rules.
