How many child soldiers will be released after Thursday?

In Nepal, more than 200 former child soldiers are preparing to make new lives as civilians. The group left the Sindhuli camp after a ceremony to mark their release Thursday. The young men and women are the first of almost 4,000 child soldiers who are expected to be released over the next 40 days. For the past three years, they have lived in camps supervised by the United Nations. The release is part of an agreement reached in December between Nepal’s government and former Maoist rebels. Under the agreement, the former soldiers will have a choice of going to school or finding employment.
