How to Handle Psychological Disorders in Metropolitan Life? Metropolitan life is fast-paced and full of pressure. People in big cities are facing many issues both at work and at home. Some find themselves psychologically ill whereas still many others are not even aware of it. Something has to be done to address this problem. Firstly, the existence of mental disease should be made publicly known. Mental disorders may not be explicitly seen always, but they are certainly an invisible killer to people’s health. Health authorities should pay more attention to mental illness when they are making public healthcare policies. In addition, relevant campaigns should be conducted to make average people know more about how to keep mentally healthy. Secondly, medical consulting should be made available for average people who are suffering from mental disorders and who are having the tendency toward disorders. When people are feeling something wrong mentally, it should be easy for them to get medical help and have professionals to talk to. Psychiatrists are specialized in dealing with mental problems so people can get right treatment in the early stage of mental illness. In many big cities, however, professional help in this regard is not easily accessible. Relevant authorities should notice this problem and take some measures to fix it. Thirdly, people can actively do something to prevent mental disorders. Prevention is always better than treatment. A good and positive state of mind always helps a lot. Being more optimistic, we can find many ways out in difficulties. If pressure is inevitable, then there must be some ways to release the pressure. There are many good ways to relax and discharge pressure. If we are not feeling comfortable mentally, we can always talk to friends or family members. Maybe we will find out a truth that every one is facing problems in some way, and we are not alone in dealing with difficulties, thus we should be braver to move forward. In addition, we can do sports regularly, playing badminton, basketball or football. In this regard, the government should make more sports facilities and parks available for people to take part in sports activities and enjoy themselves. Fourthly, working places and companies should be more human-oriented, so that employees would not feel too much pressure from work. Family members can help too, as family love can be one of the best cures for mental disorders. In conclusion, in order to. guard against psychological disorders, each and every one of people in the society should play an active part. Starting to care about your mental health may be the first step to build a favorable relationship between man and society.
