persecutions—like Jews during World War II, or blacks in South
Africa—its cause has received international support. By contrast,【S8】______
the gypsies’ success at preserving their culture is not regarded as an
achievement at all. Instead of, it is viewed as proof they are both【S9】______
unwilling and unable to change, and therefore irredeemable.
Indeed, recently the president of Slovak Republic praised their way【S10】______
of life and said steps should be taken to limit the extension of this
socially unacceptable and mentally backwards population.
