As a college teacher, which one should be attached more importance to, academic research or teaching? From my standpoint, teaching should prevail over other aspects in that education is fundamental to the progress of our country. The prosperity of a nation depends on the development of education. Any advancement in science and technology throughout the world is due to the improvement of education which brings up scientists and inventors. Education is also pivotal when it comes to the development of individuals. Of all the elements of success in our career, none is more important than education. It is not genius but the knowledge that makes the difference between success and failure. In fact, most of the venerable and prestigious people of our times have been absorbed in studying round the clock. Therefore, I think college teachers should put more time and energy in teaching and developing their interests in acquiring more knowledge on campus.
