"Most people don’t have a【C20】______who is involved with space travel ," says Dr. Holly Schneier, an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University, " and few people observed the disaster first-hand. "
Schneier also says people don’t identify with the astronaut in the same way they did with the victim of Sept. 11. "We all know they had a high-risk job and they understood that risk, "she ex-plains. "That’s not like going to the office for a routine day of work and fully expecting to come home and then dying in a terrorist attack. "
