Listen to the following passage. Altogether the passage will be read to you four times. During the first reading, which will be done at normal speed, listen and try to understand the meaning. The New Health Food
Many people regretfully turn down chocolates, fearing ruined figures and complexions. / But now, scientists’ acknowledgement that chocolate is actually a health food / may soothe some of those guilty feelings./
Chocolates can have a beneficial impact on the body / in terms of quickly boosting energy levels. / It contains more important minerals to build up the body man most other types of food. / It is an effective mood-enhancer, too. / However, too much chocolate dulls the appetite for other food. / But that doesn’t mean chocolate is harmful and should be rejected./
