The news coincided with confirmation that the company also plans to dispose of its loss-making operations, SolvPaints, the industrial solvent and paint division. This restructuring comes as the company reported a sharp drop in pre-tax profits. According to a company spokesman, the proposed joint venture with DTR International, one of Trivoli Chemicals’ main competitors, is likely to be shelved.
