答案 The Right to Die Advances in medical technology have made it possible for people to live longer than in the past. New medicines and machines are being developed every day to extend life. As a result, those incurable patients can still survive much longer though they suffer a lot both physically and mentally. However, some people including some doctors, are not in favor of these life-extending measures. They argue that people should have the right to die when they suffer from an incurable disease. They say that the quality of life is as important as life itself, and that people should not be forced to go on living when the conditions of life become unbearable. Others argue that life under any circumstances is better than death. The duty of doctors is always to extend life as long as possible, and it will be inhuman if we leave those patients alone without trying our best to help them live longer. So the debate goes on ’and on without a definite answer.
