答案 My Personal Views on the Sporting Spirit Sporting spirit means the right spirit in which a man should take part in any sport, or play any game. When comes to "the sporting spirit" , it is easy to find its component parts are teamwork, persistence and daring to win in adversity. Teamwork is essential to a good performance for any sports team, professional or not. Teamwork in sports promotes cooperation. No sports team can success without cooperation. For example, members of a football team need to cooperate to successfully perform a play. Without working together for the tournament, the team could never sweep the board. Teamwork is also an excellent way to teach accountability. Plays can not always be successful, and if a player was in the wrong place at the wrong time, missed the basket or was looking at the outfield when he should have been focused on running the bases, he should take responsibility for what has gone wrong rather than blaming it on a teammate or finding excuses. Persistence is a recurring theme amongst most successful athletes. The ability to persist comes from a number of underlying forces or attitudes, which make it easier to keep going when one is challenged—on and off the sporting field. The first is to have a clear and inspiring goal. The more clear the goal is, the easier it is to focus on it and to track a path towards it. When one falls down or has a setback, the inspiration of his goal urges him to get back up again. The second is to believe in yourself and be committed to your goal. When one is committed to his goals, he will keep going, no exceptions. Daring to win in adversity means that one will play a game with fearless courage and determination when come across a formidable opponent. An ordinary player will often get into a temper when he is hopeless in a game, and throw the game away in a pet. But an athlete keeps in a good humor even when he is losing, and shows the greater pluck. He knows that if he can balance his mind status at a disadvantage, then he has indeed the opportunity to get more information of the opponent, which helps to defeat him. Nearly all the sports practiced nowadays are competitive. Anyone who has played even in a school football match knows this. He who play to win should never give up.
