In this game, players could receive a score based on their singing performance. Websites started popping up all over the Internet, creating a global karaoke community. On these sites, singers can record and even video themselves performing. Even some car manufacturers jumped on the karaoke bandwagon and had karaoke players installed as part of a car’s DVD player. There are even VCDs available now for Chinese opera karaoke, so that the elderly can have fun singing songs of the past.
