Gas oil and electricity only account for a minor share, representing 0.4% and 3.5% respectively. The energy composition of this village indicates that some utilities might still be unavailable to some remote areas in China. Because of the lack of infrastructure, such as electricity poles, wires and gas pipelines, people living in those areas are still dependent on primary sources of energy, to name just a few, straw, firewood and coals. To diversify the energy sources in the remote areas, the authorities concerned should, first of all, earmark a certain amount of money to build up the much needed infrastructure there, thereby making utilities available to villagers. Moreover, alternative energies could be encouraged in some villages. In conclusion, to ensure energy needs are met in the remote areas, money should be invested to improve the infrastructure and alternative energy sources must be exploited.
