答案 The picture vividly portrays the relationship between natural environment and industrial pollution. Two panic stricken leafy trees with legs, as the symbol of nature, are retreating hastily because of three running chimneys. Those chimneys, representing industrial pollution, also look like persons, with thick black clouds of smoke billowing from their heads. It intends to remind us that the environment is being heavily polluted by industrialization. Following prevalence of global modernization, industrialization is introduced everywhere, so is industrial pollution to the globe. The more rapidly where industrialization is accelerated, the more severe there environmental pollution is. Industrial waste, such as smoke, gas and water, comprises vast toxic substances fatal to living beings. When those substances spread to soil, lands will become completely barren and desolate; to rivers, water undrinkable; to atmosphere, air irrespirable. What’s more, a fast-growing surplus of scrapped but non-degradable e waste, such as battery and computers, truly places great pressure on the environment. Since industrial pollution is a global problem, all countries, developing and developed, should cooperate to really solve it. For one thing, developed countries should lower the threshold of technology transfer to developing countries, especially pollution treatment technologies. For another, developing countries should probe effective pollution-decreasing methods to minimize industrial pollution.
