It also covers specialised subjects such as languages, sewing, cooking, painting, etc. 8.TV provides broadcasts of important sport matches, allowing us to follow the latest result in every country. 9.People all over the world are no longer live in isolation. The most distant countries and the strangest customs are brought right into one’s sitting room. 10.TV may be a vital factor in holding a family together, when there are, for example, economic problems and husband and wife seem at breaking point. Negative: 1.TV is a great time waster. 2.Watching TV is a completely passive activity as everything is presented to the viewer without any effort on his part. 3.TV takes up too much of our time. We no longer have enough time for hobbies and other activities such as going to the theatre or cinema, or playing sports, etc. 4.People have grown addicted to TV, sometimes neglecting more important areas of their life such as meals, sleep and even work as a result. 5.The crime rate in many cities is rising alarmingly and some people think that violent TV programmes are to blame. However, many other people disagree. Both sides of the argument are well supported.
