   You have learnt of a new position open to candidates from within your company. You have been advised to send a letter to the manager of the division where the new job has been created in order to inform him of your interest in this position. Write the letter to the manager:

    summarizing your work experience and qualifications
    indicating your wish to maintain further contact

   Your company has decided to institute changes in its policy about working hours in response to the needs of its changing workforce in a large city. You have been asked to write a proposal for appropriate changes at the moment. Write your proposal, including the following:
    a description of employees’ problems with the existent policy about working hours
    a recommendation of a change

   Your company needs veteran employees to appraise the newly employed as peers. You have been asked to write appraisal report about one of your new colleagues. Write the report for your manager, including the following information:

答案Dear Mr. Jones: Yesterday, as I was reviewing our weekly job postings, I noticed your available cost accountant position. I am particularly interested in Chip Fab because it has both a great tradition and a great future with IT. I am gratified to see our company reemerging a leader in microchips, and I would like to be on the team that one day overtakes Intel. For the past three years, I have been an accountant in the Naval Radar Division in Balch Springs performing the same functions mentioned on your job listing. During that time I was chosen team leader of my department’s quality management effort, which resulted in our being able to cut reporting turnaround from seven to three days. As the spokesperson for my team, I also presented our suggestions on how to move toward papar less office to other accountants and financial analysts throughout our area. I enjoy trying new techniques that have the. potential to provide more useful information in more understandable formats. Using suggestions from manufacturing managers, I recently developed a new report on just-in-time procurement that bas been very popular with users.
