When more students are enrolled by the limited number of universities, especially when the faculties in these universities remain basically unchanged, alternative measures such as online courses would be a nice choice. And the nature of some courses makes the online version equally, if not more,effective while saving a lot of time and campus infrastructure. The benefits of such practices are obvious. Just as the reasons mentioned above, the introduction of online courses has greatly improved the efficiency of education of certain type while including more students in the learning process. And we should also keep in mind that the nature of the online format is interactive. Taking language learning as an example,more interactive activities to train the students’ speaking and writing proficiency are available on the Internet,with proper guidance from the universities’ concerned departments. Another benefit we can not ignore is the students’ information literacy that will be cultivated during this process.
