Although the reasons for study are categorized under several different headings, there seems to be only two main reasons that adults want to go to school, Firstly, personal reasons account for 3 categories. Adults study because they have an "interest in the subject" which is the most popular reason, or they enjoy studying or they Can "meet people,’ (the last popular reason). Secondly, adults continue their education for professional purposes. They study to "gain qualifications", to "improve prospects for promotion"," to be able to change jobs", and because it is "helpful for current job". Furthermore the adults surveyed expressed how they feel adult education should be paid for. The individual student should be responsible for 40% of the tuition, while 35% should be covered by the employer. The remaining 25% will be filled by tax dollars. That is to say, the government should give economic aids to adult students; To sum up, the relationship between reasons and costs of study appear proportional. More adults study for professional purposes and thus more than half of tuition should be paid by the employer and society. The rest of the tuition should be paid by the individual and this related to the personal reasons for study.
