答案 Technology and Traditional Culture The development of science and technology has been accompanied by a decline in traditional culture. I do not think it is a bad result, because some respects of traditional culture block the progress and should be abandoned. Moreover, it is natural that people want to find new ways of doing things. Firstly, science and technology have cleared up many matters that were mysterious to us in the past. We now know that volcanic explosion, thunder and lightening are not caused by the angry gods, but the normal natural phenomena. As a result, a large number of harmful superstitions have disappeared. Secondly, our daily life has become more convenient due to those scientific and technological inventions. Nowadays, many means of traffic instead of foot enable us to travel in less time than ever before, and computers enable us to make more accurate calculations at an amazing speed. Even more important is the fact that television and family cinema bring the family together in the evening. Therefore, for the above reasons, I welcome the development of science and technology, which have eliminated the bad parts of traditional culture while preserving the good parts.
