问题 Robert was crossing the road the other day when he saw a red car coming in the distance (在远处 ). He thought the car would stop because the lights had turned red. However, the car was going too fast and Robert soon knew that it couldn’t stop in time. He tried to move out of its way, but it was too late. Robert was knocked down by the red car and lay unconscious (失去知觉的) on the road. Some people who happened to (碰巧) pass by quickly went to him and an ambulance (救护车) was called for. The driver of the red car did not stop, but a clever girl called Lucy had noted down the number of the car. When the police came, she gave them the number of the red car.
At the same time, Robert was taken to the nearest hospital and his parents were called for. They were very surprised to hear of the accident (事故) and quickly rushed to be by his side. For three days Robert was unconscious and his parents were worded that he might die. But on the fourth day Robert woke up and spoke softly. His parents were very happy. The police, by then, had found out the driver of the red car and had arrested (逮捕) him.
