For one thing, mastering the basic skills can not only help us acquire advanced skills but also cultivate our characters. For another, the basic skills will never be out of date and they are very practical in our daily life and work. We need to excel in arithmetic to calculate our household expenses as well as to draw up financial plans. In short, the basic skills are essential for our success. The more basic skills we master, the more likely we are to find a satisfactory job.
