This picture reminds me of the cases of damage to historical relics hotly discussed on the Internet. The most notorious one relates to a child who scribbled graffiti on a 3500-year-old Egyptian temple. Actually, scribbling on cultural relics is a bad habit commonly found in Chinese people, the prototype of which could date back to the time when poets wrote poems randomly on the walls of pavilions. Poets left legends but today’s visitors only cause damages. The situation gets worse as booming economy enables an increasing number of Chinese people to travel a-round. It is really dismayed that most beautiful relics have been covered with ugly scribbles. It is high time that moral education were promoted. Otherwise, the point will be reached when it will be too late to save relics from disappearance. Education about art and culture should also be given. Only when Chinese people learn to appreciate and respect art and culture, will they willingly act to protect relics.
